All 1 floor with kitchen, dining room, 2 living rooms, laundry, 3 plus 2 bedrooms, 3 bath. 2 queens, 4 twins, 4 double pull out sofas. 2 bedrooms have a queen, the other bedroom has 1 set of bunk beds and 2 twin beds (4 beds in this room). The 2 twins have foundations, could be put together for a king. Sun room with double pull out, could be a 4th bedroom. 2 living room areas with a total of 3 pull out sofas. South living area has 2 pull out sofas, a wardrobe and ensuite bath, could be 5th bedroom. Capacity is 8 with beds and another 4 to 8 with 4 pull out sofas ( the sofas are doubles, could accommodate 4 children making a capacity of 12 adulys plus 4 children 12 and under). ). Please note the sunroom has no heat source, might not work in spring and fall for a bedroom. NOT PROVIDED: linen, blankets, pillows, bath towels. PROVIDED: cleaning supplies, tea, coffee filters, salt and pepper and some spices, tea towels, dish cloths. (see what to bring and when to come for more info). Outdoor shower with hot water on the back deck, fun for washing off the sand. Washer/dryer, laundry room has an extra fridge with a freezer. Kitchen is stocked to cook and serve, coffee maker, french press, coffee bean grinder. Back yard with fire pit, lots of parking.
May, June, Sept $400/N, 2 night min, Victoria weekend $1200, weekly rental $1200 during this time frame only. SUMMER JULY/AUGUST IS WEEKLY RENTAL $2195 with a Fri arrival. All prices except the winter rental are subject to HST in 2024. This cottage is rented monthly fall to spring, $1300/mo plus utilities, cable and wifi included in the price.
This subdivision is lakeside, there is a communal viewing walkway nearby (not on the property, in the subdivision), beautiful views of Lake Huron sunsets and the water. St Joseph’s beach is a minute drive and has sand. Grand Bend blue flag beach is an 8 min drive south. Sararass Beach is a minute drive south, it has beach in 2021, steep walk down and parking at the top of the hill. Pics are of St Joseph and Sararass Beach. Children’s playground is around the corner from this cottage, you have a wagon on loan for kids. Pics of the water with trees, is at the top of the bluff, green space in this subdivision.. you can bring a chair and watch the sunset. There are communal stairs in this subdivision down to the beach and they are open depending on water levels and beach etc. This cottage is in Bayview subdivision in St Joseph. The White Squirrel Golf Club is across the highway. The White Squirrel has a restaurant and outside BBQ food for golfers, live entertainment on the weekends. Basic cable, wifi is provided. This home is decorated cottage style: comfortable, welcoming, simple furniture with a nautical theme.

The village of Grand Bend has a blue flag beach and splash pad for children. Lot of things to do in Grand Bend, live theatre, mini golf, water sports, restaurants and shopping to name a few. Just north of this cottage is Masse’s Produce #massesproducegrandbend and the village of Zurich is about a 5 min drive away. White Squirrel Golf Club is across the highway #whitesquirrelgolfclub. Jerry Rader’s deli and shop is in Zurich and there is a used clothing etc store called Blessings. Pinery Provincial Park is huge and has organized daily activities for families, it also has 9 beaches with parking. Lakewood Garden Centre is just north on Hwy#21, #lakewoodgardencentregrandbend. 2 grocery stores, 2 pharmacies, 2 hardware stores in Grand Bend. Bayfield has a grocery store and LCBO in the store. Consumable items like toilet paper, paper towel, laundry and dish detergent ARE supplied in small quantities to get you started. Cleaning supplies ARE provided. BBQ is natural gas. You should have enough pots and pans, dishes etc to cook and serve. There is salt and pepper and a few extra spices, tea bags, coffee filters.

This was a perfect getaway. The cottage was great, clean and well equipped. Jane was very accommodative with check in and check out. The location is great and close to the beach and Pinery Market.

We absolutely love Blueheron! This year was our second year that we spent the Labour Day weekend here, and we booked next year already. The cottage feels cozy, yet is very spacious and easily accomodates our three families. Our kids always enjoy spending time in the park that is just steps away, but gives them a feeling of being away from the adults. The cottage is in a great location, close to Grand Bend and Bayfield, but away from the crowds of the last long weekend of the summer. Always clean, always up-grading, just a little gem!
This is my second time renting The Blue Heron. Last year rented it with friends. This year it was family, a few kids and my parent’s. What can I say, Jane is an amazing host! Cottage is beautiful, spacious, nice backyard, bbq, firepit, 2min walk to playground and 3min drive to private beach. Will be renting again next summer!
I rented The Blue Heron for a fun getaway weekend for a group of 13 of my girlfriends and we could not have had a better experience. From the first steps in contacting Jane and booking the cottage, to arriving and our stay, everything ran smoothly. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed and was beautifully decorated in a beachy theme. The overall sleeping arrangements was also ideal for our group and everyone could not stop raving about how cute everything was. There is a beautiful staircase just 2 minutes from the cottage that leads to the water and as mentioned is about a 10 minute drive to Grand Bend which is very convenient. Jane has also done an extensive amount of research and had many pamplets and resources available for ideas or activities within the area. If you’re looking for a place to stay around Grand Bend, I would 100% recommend The Blue Heron. If we ever need a spot to stay, I will for sure be going back!
Perfect family getaway. The cottage was big, spacious and clean. We had 4 adults and 2 little ones and we all loved it. Has a great cottage feel, Jane was so helpful and there for anything. There was a great park just across the road, and a private beach just a short walk away. We would love to return again soon.
A great place to stay. Jane is a wonderful host . The cottage is airy, clean , and has a great rear yard with deck and firepit. It is about a 7-8 minute car ride to downtown Grand Bend with all amenities very close by.
The cottage was great, easy check in and checkout. Jane and Murray were easy to communicate with and responded to questions quickly. We didn’t use the room at the back of the house near the backyard since we had enough sleeping space inside, but I don’t think I would sleep in that room on a super hot/cold day. It’s more of a separate sunroom that isn’t sleeping space. It was great value for the space and location of the cottage.
